Alternatives to UPS?

I’m sure you could rig something up. Really a UPS is just a battery for the most part. It charges of the main and when the main goes out it kicks in. Just like a laptop battery really. So if you had a sufficiently sized battery you could charge it with solar. If you come up with something we would love to see it! As you know, Ethereum is concerned about energy efficiency and renewability.

Thanks for the clarify, as i had indeed thought that UPS was a brand of some sort. I had saved a post on reddit with a solar panel and battery combo that looked great, but reddit is down atm. Ill post it later if i can find it.

Happy to help. You’ll need some way to connect your batteries via USB to your staking box too. That way it knows when the battery is getting low and it can shut down gracefully.

Here’s the setup from Reddit. I saved this post a long time ago and unfortunately its no longer a great deal, as the price skyrocketed on the battery.
